Arsenal Ward was created by The London Borough of Islington (Electoral Changes) Order 2020 and came into effect at the local council elections on Thursday 5th May 2022.

Residents of Arsenal Ward elect three councillors to Islington Council. Labour candidates for these council seats are supported by the local Branch Labour Party, which is part of the Islington North Constituency Labour Party.

The boundaries of Arsenal Ward were set by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, who have published a map at https://www.lgbce.org.uk/all-reviews/greater-london/greater-london/islington. Labour Party members who are residents of the ward are automatically members of the Branch.

Outside of election campaigns, the Branch meets regularly each month to discuss politics and policy, to participate in local Party democracy, and to organise events.
